Hey Guys… 😦
If you didn’t hear already, Pet Society is shutting down. Yes, It’s very shocking. I saw it coming, but I didn’t think they would close it down until like next year at least! There’s not much I can really say, because I’m still pretty shocked. All I can say is that I feel betrayed, and it really sucks for all the loyal players. But maybe that Pet Society closing down is the best for all of us. I mean, we can’t play Pet Society forever, and one day we’d have to all stop. Maybe it’s time to move on and continue with our real lives. There are other pet games too, like Pet City, and I might look into that – but I know it won’t be the same. I’ve also thought of moving on to Webkinz (I know, very childish, but it’s super cute too!) I’ll always miss my little Cherry, and she’s always been there for me.
But I will enjoy the time I have with her until the very last day – June 14th. But now, the real question… Should I continue posting on this blog? This is where your opinions come in. Here’s a poll I hope you all will fill out:
No matter what, I will always keep this blog up (regardless if I continue to post or not) so if anyone wants to look back at some of my older posts. It really sucks though, because I got almost 25,000 hits, which is.. ALOT! And I feel like this is all going to waste. Also, I wonder something else…. Should I start blogging about another game? Like I mentioned… Pet City or Webkinz?
Anyways, I am so sorry that this had to happen, but if you want me to continue posting, I will continue posting regularly until June 14th. I hope we all can move on and find another game that we enjoy! Thank you everyone who I traded with and spent time with on Pet Society. Yes, I will too. There’s a game called Party Town which is very similar to Pet Society (very similar graphics) but for some reason it isn’t the same for me…. There’s also Pet City, Webkinz, Neopets, etc…

I’m so sad about this. I’m not sure what to say about keeping this blog open, for me I am closing mine but will keep my pet’s fanpage for memories. I will miss this blog and the game. 😦

Im so sad my sweet Lolita is going to die.. I´ve played more than four years this game and it is heartbreaking to know it won´t last long.
Im trying to save as much amount of data of the game and then animate it with flash. I´ve already made an dress- up game featuring my pet and her favourite clothings,

This is really sad. I never expected PS to end so soon, and it makes it even sadder since my pet recently celebrated her first birthday. I will miss my little Yumi. As a fan of your blog, I will miss reading your posts and news about Cherry. Thank you for sharing your time with Yumi and me.

Hi there’s an application similar to pet society and restaurant city. It’s called line play. It’s wayyyy cuter though. Just youtube it to see the commercial. You won’t regret it. I promise you.

Party Town looks somewhat like Pet Society; but I don’t love it either. I find Pet City to be more like PS in playability. The only downside to Pet City is that you HAVE to watch a video to get your daily coins. SO wrong.

Just found out that Pet Society has closed. I already stopped playing, but I liked to visit my pet sometimes… not very regularly of course, otherwise I would notice before.
Hadn’t I decide I won’t play website-dependent games anymore two weeks ago, I would decide like that now. Because just at the end of June, I found and DLed some old (early nineties) games I used to play back then, and I still like them and it’s great to play them a little bit now… but we won’t be able to do that with web-based games, because they are all going to shut down at some point, and we won’t be able to download some “not-updated-anymore” version of the game.
Recently I’ve purchased games from Amanita Design, these are totally offline and webpage-independent, and pretty and enjoyable. Yes, I had to pay for them, but they are mine now.
